What We Believe
Our foundation is rooted in Scripture and centered on Jesus.
These core beliefs guide everything we do as a church and shape how we live, grow, and serve.
At The Bridge, our beliefs are grounded in the truth of the Bible and centered on a relationship with Jesus Christ.
We believe theology isn’t just something to understand, it’s something to live. These beliefs shape how we follow Jesus, love others, and live out our faith every day.
God
We believe in one God, the Creator of all things, perfect in love and holiness.
He exists as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Scripture:
Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God.
He entered human form through the miracle of the virgin birth, lived a sinless life, and died for our sins.
He rose again on the third day and now sits at the right hand of God as our advocate. One day, He will return to gather His people, judge His enemies, and reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Scripture:
Matthew 1:18–25; John 1:1, 14; John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3–7; Hebrews 1:3; 1 John 2:1;
1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; 1 Corinthians 15:50–52; Revelation 19:11–16
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is God.
He glorifies Jesus Christ, convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and brings about new birth.
He indwells, baptizes, seals, anoints, and equips believers with spiritual gifts. He also leads those who surrender daily by guiding, teaching, sanctifying, and filling them.
Scripture:
John 15:26; John 16:8; John 3:3–6; John 14:16–17, 26
The Bible
We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word and the authority for all Christian faith and life.
God has preserved His Word, and by His power it has been kept from being lost, destroyed, or diluted with error.
Scripture:
2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:89; 1 Peter 1:23, 25
Humanity & Sin
We believe all people are created in the image of God.
Because of sin, all people are separated from God by nature and by choice. Apart from forgiveness in Jesus Christ, all are lost and alienated from Him.
Scripture:
Genesis 1:27; Genesis 3:1–6; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1–3
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
His death is the only payment for sin that God accepts. All who truly believe in Him are born again and become children of God.
Scripture:
John 1:12; Ephesians 2:8–9
The Church
We believe the Church consists of all who believe in Jesus Christ as Savior.
Each local church is led under Christ and is called to support unity among Christ-honoring churches and ministries.
Scripture:
Colossians 1:28; Ephesians 4:3–6
Every Believer
We believe in the priesthood of all believers.
Every follower of Jesus has direct access to God and is responsible for growing in their relationship with Him.
Scripture:
1 Timothy 2:5; 1 Peter 2:2, 5, 9
Spiritual Gifts
We believe the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to every believer.
These gifts equip the Church to fulfill its mission of exalting Christ, strengthening believers, and sharing the Gospel.
Scripture:
1 Corinthians 12:12
Baptism & Communion
We believe baptism and communion are expressions of faith.
Baptism is the outward demonstration of an inward decision to follow Jesus, symbolizing His death, burial, and resurrection. We practice baptism by immersion.
Communion is a reminder of Christ’s sacrifice and a memorial to Him until He returns.
While both are important, they are not required for salvation.
Scripture:
Matthew 28:18–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23–24
Our Calling
We believe the Church is called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world.
We are responsible for living out our faith and addressing the needs of each generation with truth and conviction.
Scripture:
Matthew 5:13–16; James 4:17
