2. We Are in a Spiritual Battle “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Ephesians 6:12 "For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds." 2 Corinthians 10:3-4
3. Face Your Battles with God

The Armor of God ¹⁰“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. ¹¹Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. ¹²For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. ¹³Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. ¹⁴Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, ¹⁵and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. ¹⁶In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. ¹⁷Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. ¹⁸And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” Ephesians 6:10-18
   1. Belt of Truth – God's truth grounds us. “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32
   2. Breastplate of Righteousness – Protects our hearts. “above all else guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23
   3. Shoes of Peace – Enables us to move with confidence. “the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. Romans 16:20
   4. Shield of Faith – Defends against the lies of the enemy. Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see Hebrews 11:1
   5. Helmet of Salvation – Guards our minds. Set your minds on the things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Cor. 10:13
   6. Sword of the Spirit – Scripture as a weapon. For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edge sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
   7. Prayer – Activates the armor.
5. The Battle Needs to Be with Others

“Lord, I put on Your armor today—Your truth, Your righteousness, Your peace, Your faith, Your salvation, and Your Word. Help me walk boldly, love fiercely, and stand firmly in You.”
